This is an amazing review of a book I've bought but not yet had the chance to read and your interweaving of your own lived experience enhances the writing. It make the writing so much more poignant somehow.

I do feel a certain melancholy about the situation; my failure of self-discovery due to societal and self-repression, the alarming turn of events in the current political discourse and the fact that I'm still early in my transition. This latter being less than a year and a half as of today.
