These days, so much is available to young people who are transgender and wish to transition. For them, hormones actually work. For them, surgeries are available (where needed), so they've got it all going for them.

For those of us who are too ugly and unfuckable, we're just a freakshow, something to be laughed at, or compared to popular-culture tropes around ugly, non-passing transgender people.

I think we have nothing in common with them; they can go their own way. They have every advantage going, so why should I be overly concerned for their well-being? In fact, given how I was treated by the wider society and how the young, passable ones sneer down their noses at us ... (the best is left unsaid) ...
