Oh, hi - sorry - I think that I probably used language that is not very accessible (a cardinal sin when attempting to communicate, for which I do apologise).
I think that, I was responding to what you wrote in your OP by agreeing on many levels, but also by emphasising some caveats and perhaps, trying to expand on some of the background cultural arena stuff that has brought this situation into existence.
As I'm sure you know, the rise of this online sub-culture did not occur in a vacuum, it arose in a particular moment as an inevitable response to wider social stressors that have, arguably, been dormant in our society for many, many decades.
Oh, and yes, the reference to GitHub (a software repository for computer programmers), was perhaps irrelevant and tangential
