I would say ‘nay’, too. It is largely his generation and the ones after it who have fostered and bolstered the venomous hatred that cis-het society feels towards trans people. No excuses for old age, because if we do that, we are implying that they possess no agency or self control and that could lead to them being socially isolated in cages, where they can no longer perpetuate the misery and suffering that generation has caused people like me and to a lesser extent, young people too.

I don’t think he should get away with it; he would not get away with venting comparable views towards other minorities and I suspect that he would probably know this.
