I don't really understand the legal technicalities, the hedgings and caveats about how far they can extend their actions.

I'm inclined to believe that their intentions are at least for now, hampered by existing constraints of statute law and legal precedent.

I'm not sure there can be any doubt is to the direction of travel they would prefer and given the current regime's utter indifference to the law (plus legislation that is in motion to enable them to overturn decisions made in law that they don't like).

To me, all of these things they are doing, is to create a cultural atmosphere and environment, in which the media circus are able to disseminate the will of the reactionary anti-trans legions, thereby setting a tone in which it becomes entirely feasible to overturn existing protective legislative terms.

I think that we can rely upon the vanguard army of anti-trans personalities (in the house of lords, academia, the press and so on), leading the lumpen sections of the population that could seriously result in existing legislative protections being revoked or overturned.

We're seeing the playing-out of a Long Game and I think that the 10 - 15 year window of opportunity they most likely have, will give the the end goals they are working towards.
