No, it has not. I grew up lots of years ago and even being thought of as being anything other than cisgender / heterosexual could stunt employment prospects, promotions, social relations and all the rest of it.

It has so not gone away - the scars that deform a lifetime are still very much there, because the work has been done; a life has been laid to waste and ruin because of the prevailing orthodoxies.
